Technical support told me that I need a cat 5 crossover.

Everyone says that computers make our lives easier, but I am finding that the devices are making my life very complicated. It wasn’t so bad when I had only one computer in the house. Everyone used the same computer, and we had a dial-up connection to the internet. I started a home business, and my twin daughters decided to attend online colleges. There was no possible way that we could share one computer, so we had to buy two more. Now that we have three computers, we opted for broadband. Setting up the network was a challenge. I called technical support, and I was told that I needed a cat 5 crossover. I wasn’t sure what this was… I just knew that I needed one. I know a lot about computers, but I wish that computerese was easier to understand. The technical jargon confuses me. I went to Radio Shack and explained the problem to an associate. He knew exactly what it was that I needed to get my network up and running. He explained it to me in laymen’s terms, and then I knew exactly what I needed to do.
